I think Samira and I did very well, we reacted very well and we showed that we built up our anger instead of telling the audience that I'm going to slap her. We used the following techniques:
Hair pull : I think I did very well pretending to pull person A's hair and I took Miss's advice which was to grab person A's hair not from the front part of her hair but the back where a pony is made so we can also see person B's expression
Choke: I think we could have made the choke look more real by making the reaction more dramatic and Person A should stiffen their arms when "choking" person B to show the tension and anger
Punch to the stomach: I think we definitely could improve on the stomach punch because there are mistakes we made , like person A should've faced their back towards the audience when getting punched which could make it real.I have learnt many techniques like choke, hair pull, punch to the stomach and neck snap, As well as how to make it look very realistic. I also improved on my slap and hair pull because now I can make the knaps on time and now I know how to really react.
slap : we used the slap technique many times and we were very good doing it as we got our knaps on time
1. The hero ( Alissa) asks the Damsel to spend their time in the park
2. The Damsel agrees in a girly way and they went off
3. Upon the arrival, the Damsel and the hero get caught up into a conversation when all of a sudden the hero needs the bathroom so he left the Damsel all alone!
4.As the Hero finds the bathroom , he notices it is for females so the hero covers the "fe" part to show it is for male which gives the movie a comedic twist
5. As the Damsel is waiting for her lover , she suddenly is a victim of a villain ( Noaf) who ties the her and takes her to the" Villain's hideout" while the villain's henchman ( sabine) trying to catch up!
6. As the hero returns he realizes his damsel is gone and that she is in distress! So the hero sets off to find his lover
7. The hero runs here and there and finally spots the damsel
8. The damsel is tied up with a rope to the bench and her expression looks like she is made of glass as she is all fragile and upset
9. The hero unties the Damsel and she is very happy and quickly punches the villain , the henchmen runs off.
10. The hero and Damsel lived happily ever after!
PROPS
GUN: We used a gun to make the villain look more arrogant and cowardly at the same time, the gun gives a threatening effect which builds up the tension while the villain holding a gun shows how big of a coward he is
ROPE: We used ropes to tie up the damsel for the part she is held hostage , the reason why we used ropes is to show that the damsel is very weak and needs a hero to save her.
DAMSEL COSTUME: We used a damsel costume to show that Jasmine was the damsel as all of us were girls, the damsel also shows the classy and girly part of the damsel and the feathers is to show how elegant she is. The color blue is a light and soft color which makes the damsel look even more fairy like.
CAPE: The cape is used to show how manly and heroic the hero is , the red color really pops the hero and gives a more strong vibe. a cape is a very typical hero act so if you see someone with a cape you instantly think about superman etc.
MUSIC
Even though we had the same music theme throughout the video we included many sound effects to build up tension, raise suspense and give a mysterious vibe .
AFTER THE PERFORMANCE
I think the silent movie followed our script and idea, i think it was very good as we kept is funny and simple which makes fewer mistakes compared to complicated ones. Us working collaboratively and really being our character went very well, we just had one mistake which was to show that the hero and Damsel lived happily ever after but since it was very obvious people would not really notice but putting a notice saying that they lived happily ever after really closes the whole story. Overall i loved the experience and video but some small issues can polish the whole video.
My first character is the damsel in distress, i chose this position because you can see that the position looks very elegant and graceful. The hand next to her chest posture is to show that the damsel is very lady like and that she needs a hero help her if she is in an troubled situation. The baby eyes are made for a reason and it is because to show how dreamy she looks and how naive she is, the other arm position is to show her class and style. The whole facial expression is very delightful but the raise of the eyebrow shows you that she is very stressed and troubled. Her eyebrow could also show that she might be thinking of a plan to help her hero find her which makes her brave.
HERO
The second impression i chose was the hero, i first did an arm posture to show off the muscles (usually heroes would have muscles as it shows how heroic they are). The other hand is just touching the muscles to add on to him looking very masculine and heroic. the facial expression is to show how charming and how glamorous the hero is. Usually most heroes are self obsessed and want other people to love and admire him and to appreciate the heroic deed he has done. While saving a damsel the hero also wants all eyes on him as he should be the center of attention.
VILLAIN
i lastly chose a villains impression, my one arched eyebrows raises the tension and shows wrinkles (since villains grudge so much it wrinkles their face). The lips are a clenched to draw more attention to the eyes and eyebrows and eyes, eyebrows and popping eyes really show how creepy and cunning villains are. The hand and arm posture shows the villain thinking of a troubling idea and the black and white filter can show that he is wanted and that he is dangerous.

This week In Music we preformed in class, while getting ready for our act we were very confident and well prepared. While preforming my team and i were not nervous at all since we had a clear story and scary music which we all are happy about. After preforming my team and the audience were very happy with how it turned out. In my opinion i think we had the clearest story as we had live narration, we got a lot of feed back most positive,( most of the feed back was related to the art) some people say that our script is too long while the others say its ok and some say that the art puppets were a little late which i do think is an issue to consider, overall i think we did very well and that we have to fix minor issues before the actual performance.
This week is very stressful as our performance is coming up. We are definitely meeting up to make the story flow with the music and we still are practicing on setting the mood. I have been working on the guitar and as i was exploring other instruments i discovered a piece i could play on the keyboard which is not a solo but it's with Lina. The purpose of the keyboard playing along with the piano is to add tension and to change things a bit because it will be boring with just a piano or it will be a little repetitive . The structure of the music is in such a way that all of the musicians get to play a part equally. Most of our sound is from the piano since it is the base while the guitar and keyboard is to add a little twist to the piece. Our story is 4-5 mins meaning the song will be the same length, there is also an audio playing with the piece to make the piece more realistic.
This week we are definitely putting more effort as the art team is pretty much done.We still are working on the feed backs we are given, we have finalized our instruments which is a guitar , Piano and a key board.I have been improving on my guitar skills and i have extended the guitar part, i am mostly playing the guitar when one of the musicians are playing the soft part because playing a lower key will drain the sound of the guitar. This lesson was very important as miss gave us a very good advice that we should record the narration as we have very little art students, which means the narrator has to move the puppets and narrate or that one of the musicians have to play the instrument and read which is very difficult to manage. Since we might record the narration we have to work on the music timing which could be a little hard but we need to find a way. We also need to figure out the length of the different instrument sections. We have to edit the narration with the lily's theme because all the instruments are draining the sound which makes it useless to use, but the effect it gives in the beginning is very eerie which we think is important ; so we have a lot of things to get through.
This week my group and i are editing our music and we are trying to find the flaws in the piece. We are definitely in touch with miss, so we are learning from the feed backs that we are given. This lesson is just us practicing our piece as well as trying to figure out what part should we play with our instrument to make everything fit together when the story is being read.
This lesson we separated, the music is going very well and my
group and i are working collaboratively. I am playing some low strings on the
guitar which gives the piano piece deepness to it, This lesson was more about
putting the whole music piece together an figuring out what goes together and
what does not. My group is planning to meet up so we can discuss with the art
students about how far they have reached , the music students (including
me ) have to ask tips from the art students so the song can flow with the
story.
The main and
repeated part of our song is the piano which goes from high to low to give the
eerie effect , the guitar adds on to the song completing it while the key board
is for sound effects. It was difficult to discuss who wanted to play what
because some of us got confused. This lesson we are catching up and starting to
finish the beginning and middle of the song, Our group wants a little twist to
the music because repeated content could get boring and could ruin the effect
we are trying to put on the audience.
This week we focused more on the effects and how could they affect the audience deeper. , my group decided to play very deep and sad tunes on the internet which gave us an idea on what our music should sound like and what mood it creates. We asked how far the art team is and they are on track like we are. We are working very collaboratively and testing out new things, i watched some videos with my team mates and we realized that the songs are really engraved in the story and that is one of our aims our second aim is to entertain the audience very well that they actually feel scared.
This week in the two lessons, we were separated so the art students had to go to the art room while the musicians stayed in the music room.As we explored a lot of instruments we got to a conclusion that we were using a piano as the main instrument, but that couldn't be enough so i decided that i would play the guitar. I started of with playing a very basic tune which included two strings but it got a little boring so i experimented even more but it was a little tough so i decided to stick to what i have right now. The other musicians are planning on more instruments like the keyboard and a laptop recording of a scary tune which is a song called lily's theme in Harry potter.
This week we got to choose our groups which resulted me being in groups of six (including m) . My team mates are Mayukh , nazzi and Runa which are from art while from music there is Lina , Safa and Danya. We got to discuss our main and important thing which was the story, we shared each others stories and ideas we were not very happy because our aim was a serious story which our stories were kind of lacking . Once we finally decided its best to write a story from scratch because then all of our ideas are contributed. We got handed a planning sheet were we had to write the story and there were other pages which included things like the instruments we are playing and what effect it will give on the audience. As we finished all of that, the music team got to explore different instruments which could fit with the genre.

WEEK ONE REFLECTION
This week in music we discussed our topic which is phantasmgoria which is a form of horror theater which uses light to project the characters and story. In the first lesson we got a brief idea on what we were doing because we got to watch videos and have questions which made clear what we are doing. Since we had to make our own Phantasmgoria we had to choose groups for next lesson
